This two-part training is designed for new school site administrators and provides a basic overview of school finance. This session will cover the most common LAUSD funding sources, as well as the budget process and timeline. Attendees will also be introduced to LAUSD's financial systems and the Standardized Account Code Structure (SACS).
With emphasis on best practices, School Finance 101B will cover budget management. It addresses key areas such as the budget monitoring reports and the role of the Hyperlinked Control Sheets as a critical alternative, the options available for adjusting budgets and realigning expenditures, and the major activities and processes that impact a school's financial plan.
